April 2024

Dear Asbury Park High School's Blue Bishop Community,

Welcome to back from Spring Break! If you can believe it, we have reached the final marking period of the school year. Marking period 3 report cards will be available to students and families on Friday, April 12th after 3pm.

On Monday, April 8th our school will celebrate the historical solar eclipse together. Asbury Park School District is proud to provide all teachers and staff with protective glasses and we will gather together to learn more about this natural phenomenon as well as view it collectively.

We are gearing up for NJSLA testing and our ELA and Math Departments continue to participate in the IXL challenge. Bi-weekly we have been excited to recognize and celebrate our classes with the highest gains and have recognized classes led by Ms. Daniels, Mr. Nunez, Ms. Herrera, and Ms. Oldock.

SAT testing will be held on April 16th. More information will be shared from Ms. Estrada and made available in your student's Google Classroom. Spring Family/Teacher Conferences will be held on April 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd. April 30th will be evening conferences and May 1st & 2nd will be afternoon conferences. More information will be shared in the coming weeks from your student's school counselor or CST case manager.

Spring sports are in full swing and we are proud to offer APHS students baseball, boys volleyball, track & field. If your student is interested in participating, please see Mr. Ardizzone or Ms. Fontaine in the Athletics Office for more information.

Our senior class is working hard to reach their goal of raising $5500 for the Senior Class of 2024 events. We had a great fundraiser with our first annual Staff vs. Student Basketball Blow Out. Please continue to monitor your student's Google Classroom for other fundraising efforts. A reminder that the "Senior Snack Shack" is available to all students immediately following school year day.

As we get into this final stretch of the school year, I would like to remind everyone how proud we are of every student's individual growth and progress. Now more than ever, attendance is imperative. It will be warm and sunny, but it is as important as ever to be in school and working towards finishing out this school year on a high note. We are here to support you and will assist however we can to ensure that your student is successful.

Yours in education,

Principal ONeill
